MyRacehorse has helped everyday fans become owners of horses competing – and winning – on some of racing’s biggest stages. Now, the launch of the MyRacehorse Indiana Racing Club brings that opportunity closer to home, giving Hoosiers a way to own a real share in a racehorse and experience the sport alongside fellow local owners.

Through its fractional ownership platform, MyRacehorse makes an experience traditionally associated with substantial financial commitments accessible to more people. Owners follow their horse’s progress, hear from its racing team, and experience the anticipation of watching their own horse compete.

Hoosiers have already been part of some of MyRacehorse’s biggest moments. In 2020, 128 Indiana MyRacehorse owners shared in Authentic’s Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup Classic victories. In 2024, 78 Indiana owners celebrated Seize the Grey’s Preakness Stakes win. The Indiana Racing Club builds on that experience with a focus on Indiana racing and opportunities to connect with the sport firsthand.

“The MyRacehorse Indiana Racing Club gives Hoosiers a new way to experience racing as actual owners,” MyRacehorse CEO Michael Behrens said. “When you purchase a share, you own a real interest in a racehorse and get to experience ownership from the barn to race day. That’s what MyRacehorse is all about, making real racehorse ownership accessible to more people and bringing them closer to the sport.”

An Indiana horse. A local ownership experience.

The club launches with Smokinghot Justice, a stakes-winning Indiana-bred filly trained by Aaron West. She gives owners a local connection to the broader MyRacehorse experience: a horse to follow, a racing team to learn from and fellow owners to cheer alongside at Horseshoe Indianapolis in Shelbyville.

Smokinghot Justice won the 2025 Miss Indiana Stakes and was a finalist for Indiana’s champion two-year-old filly that year. She recently finished second in the Ellen’s Lucky Star Handicap in August. Her upcoming targets includes racing at Horseshoe Indianapolis on Indiana Champions Day on October 24.

Shares in Smokinghot Justice are available starting $250, giving participants a real fractional ownership interest in the horse.

Ownership beyond Race Day

For Indiana Racing Club owners, the experience extends beyond watching Smokinghot Justice cross the finish line.

Owners become part of her journey through regular horse and training updates, trainer insights and invitations to local experiences. Planned opportunities include barn visits, trainer meet-and-greets and owner race-day gatherings at Horseshoe Indianapolis. Select paddock and winner’s-circle opportunities are subject to availability and applicable access rules.

Through the MyRacehorse app, owners can follow workouts and race entries, watch race replays and receive announcements and event invitations, keeping them connected to their horse between race days.

“MyRacehorse makes owning a racehorse approachable, and you get so much more than an ownership share in a horse,” said Ken Myles, a MyRacehorse fractional owner. “You get to follow the journey, learn about the sport and feel like you’re part of a community. Being able to experience all of that close to home in Indiana is really exciting.”

Connecting more people to Indiana racing

The club combines MyRacehorse’s ownership platform with Indiana’s established racing community, connecting owners with local racing professionals and introducing new audiences to the state’s horse racing and breeding industries.

“Bringing new owners into our sport is important to the continued strength and growth of Indiana horse racing,” said Dan Spears, President of the Indiana Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders’ Association (ITOBA). “Programs like MyRacehorse Indiana Racing Club introduce people to ownership in an approachable way while connecting them with the breeders, trainers, horses and racetracks that make up Indiana’s racing community. The more opportunities we create for people to participate firsthand, the stronger that community becomes.”

According to Purdue University, horse racing is a nearly $2 billion industry touching all 92 Indiana counties. Its economic impact extends beyond the racetrack to farms, feed and hay producers, veterinarians, horse-care professionals, transportation providers and other local businesses.

The MyRacehorse Indiana Racing Club is open to eligible participants age 18 and older. No previous horse racing or ownership experience is required. Educational resources, horse updates and ownership information are available through the MyRacehorse platform, with Horseshoe Indianapolis helping facilitate local in-person racing experiences.
