Get behind the wheel of a Westfield school bus!

Westfield Washington Schools (WWS) invites prospective bus drivers to a Drive the Bus hiring event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the WWS Transportation Center, 17900 Towne Road.

Attendees will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a school bus and drive around the Transportation Center lot alongside members of the WWS training team.

The event is designed to show that becoming a bus driver is more approachable than some may think. No previous school bus driving experience is necessary, and WWS provides paid training to help new drivers prepare for the role and earn the required credentials.

“Driving a school bus can seem intimidating until you actually get behind the wheel,” Director of Transportation Michael Reinhardt said. “This event gives people a chance to try it in a comfortable environment, ask questions, meet our team, and see if it might be the right fit for them.”

Staff will be available throughout the event to answer questions about driving for WWS, training, and the application process. Prospective drivers who are ready to take the next step can complete an application on site.
