Hire an HSE student, support a scholarship

Hamilton Southeastern High School students are ready to help community members tackle their fall to-do lists while raising money for a scholarship honoring a former HSE student.

The annual Carrie Colglazier Scholarship Community Service Workday will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20. Community members can hire students for an eight-hour workday with a minimum donation of $25 per student worker. Jobs can include mulching, washing windows, painting, yard work, planting flowers, trimming bushes, raking leaves, cleaning gutters, cleaning garages, and other fall projects.

All proceeds benefit the Carrie Colglazier Scholarship Fund, which provides a $16,000 scholarship distributed over four years to an HSE senior who has participated in girls soccer, girls track, FFA, or National Honor Society.

The scholarship honors Carrie Colglazier, a former HSE student-athlete who excelled in soccer and track and was also active in FFA, 4-H, and National Honor Society. The annual workday continues her legacy of leadership, service, and involvement at HSE.
