Cicero Community Park fundraiser tops $69K

Campaign goal exceeded; town will receive matching $50,000 grant from IHCDA

Cicero residents and visitors will soon enjoy a farm-themed playground in Community Park for ages 5 to 12 thanks to a successful IHCDA CreatINg Places crowdfunding campaign.

CreatINg Places is a program of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA). The Town of Cicero led the campaign.

“We’re grateful to our residents, businesses, nonprofits, farmers, and so many others for their generosity,” Cicero Parks Superintendent Jim Hunter. “With the extra money raised, we’ll add important amenities for the playground such as benches, a shelter, mulch, and more.”

Since the campaign reached its $50,000 goal on Sept. 3, the Town of Cicero will receive a matching grant of $50,000 from IHCDA’s CreatINg Places program.

About CreatINg Places
The CreatINg Places program is available to projects located in Indiana communities. Non-profit entities (with 501c3 or 501c4 status) and Local Units of Government are eligible to apply. Eligible projects must have a minimum total development cost of $10,000, where the recipient will receive $5,000 in IHCDA matching funds should they successfully raise $5,000 through Patronicity. IHCDA will provide matching grant funds up to $50,000 per project.
