Crash at 96th & Allisonville leaves one person dead

The Fishers Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 96th Street and Allisonville Road just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4.

When officers and medics arrived, it was determined the occupant of a white Hyundai Palisade was deceased. The driver of a black Ford F-250 was still on scene and refused medical transport. The driver of the F-250, Cory Amick, was detained for investigation of suspected of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

Amick refused field sobriety tests on-scene and a search warrant for a blood draw was obtained and completed.

During the investigation, FPD officers were able to view video from a Flock camera near the intersection. The video shows the F-250 traveling at a high rate of speed through the roundabout and violently collide with the Palisade. The video confirms what the Fishers Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team initially determined as contributing factors to the crash.

The Hamilton County Coroner will release the victim’s identity once next-of-kin notification has been made. The Fishers Police Department sends its deepest condolences to the family of the victim of this devastating incident.

This investigation is ongoing and final charges will be decided by the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office. There is a preliminary charge of OWI Causing Death (Level 4 Felony).

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
