Ascension St. Vincent in Fishers & Carmel named top hospitals in Indiana

Ascension St. Vincent has achieved a monumental milestone in healthcare excellence, securing two spots on the inaugural Forbes Top Hospitals by State list. Among the recognized facilities is Ascension St. Vincent Fishers, and the Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel.

Of all the healthcare facilities evaluated across Indiana, only seven earned the prestigious 5-star overall rating. “Ascension St. Vincent not only accounts for two of those seven elite designations, but it also holds the distinct honor of operating Forbes only 5-star rated hospitals in the greater Indianapolis area.”

The Forbes methodology sets an incredibly high bar for clinical excellence. Rather than relying on simple popularity metrics, Forbes partnered with data experts to conduct a rigorous, objective analysis of the national Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) data.

The evaluation measured hospitals across four core pillars:

• Clinical Outcomes: Heavy statistical weight placed on quantifiable metrics like patient mortality and low readmission rates.
• Adherence to Best Practices: Consistent safety compliance and evidence-based care delivery.
• Value of Care: Practical, demonstrable efficiency and effectiveness in treating patients.
• Patient Experience: Direct feedback regarding patient satisfaction, communication, and overall environment quality.

Out of the thousands of hospitals evaluated across the United States, only 253 achieved an overall 5-star rating, placing Ascension St. Vincent’s winning facilities in the top tier of healthcare nationwide.
