The Westfield Creative Collective (WCC) is a new art organization founded to promote the arts in Westfield, which is a booming city with no end in sight.
The WCC promotes one artist each month, and for the month of June, that is Walt Thacker, who is a member of the Hamilton County Artists’ Association. His work is featured at the Rivet Coffee Bar and Roastery, which is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
On the fourth Friday (June 26) from 6 to 8:30 p.m., the WCC will hold a gala promoting Thacker and his works at Rivet, 337 Jersey St., Westfield. He will work on a painting at his easel and talking with patrons, and singer-songwriter Abby Anderson will perform her own music.
Thacker will also have a painting to be raffled off that night. It’s on a 24-by-24-inch canvas ready to hang: “Holiday Homecoming,” a winter oil painting with a blue mellow mood. A horse and carriage arriving at a farmhouse on a snow-covered landscape is the story.
This will be an evening of art music and community. Please plan to attend.
