Jack Russell, candidate for Hamilton Heights School Board At-Large, announced on Wednesday, April 15 the endorsement of Tony Cook, former Hamilton Heights Superintendent and State Representative for Indiana’s District 32.

Cook, a lifelong educator and respected community leader, offered strong support for Russell’s candidacy and vision for the district.

“Jack Russell is a quality candidate for the Hamilton Heights School Board, and it is a pleasure to endorse him,” Cook said. “Jack brings a wealth of experience in business and management areas, and his extended family members have resided and been actively involved in community affairs for a long time and are highly respected. Jack is committed to educational excellence and individual student program needs. He will bring thoughtful, intelligent leadership, combined with a caring and responsible presence to the board.”

Cook dedicated 42 years to education, including service as a teacher, principal, and superintendent of Hamilton Heights School Corporation. Following his career in education, he served in the Indiana General Assembly from 2014 to 2022, representing communities across northern Hamilton County and beyond. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Indiana Coalition for Growing and Suburban Schools, where he advocates on behalf of 24 school corporations and plays a key role in shaping education policy.

Russell expressed deep appreciation for Cook’s endorsement and the example of leadership he has set throughout his career.

“Tony Cook has dedicated his life to education and public service,” Russell said. “His leadership, experience, and commitment to students and communities is unmatched. I’m incredibly grateful for his support.”

Russell, a longtime community leader and advocate, is running on a platform focused on academic excellence, student well-being, community connection, fiscal responsibility, and a culture of respect and accountability. His campaign is centered on a commitment to ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.
