Dear Editor:
After 30 years as a Deputy Sheriff with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, I have witnessed the justice system from the inside. I have watched cases move through the courts. I have seen what happens when a courtroom is run well, and what happens when it is not. I have worked alongside judges, attorneys, and prosecutors, and I have learned that the person sitting on that bench matters enormously, not just to the outcome of cases, but to the integrity of the entire process.
That experience is why I am supporting Trampas Whalin for Judge of Superior Court 4, and why I believe he is the right choice.
Law and order do not begin and end with police work. They run through every courtroom in this county. The bench is where accountability is established, where victims see whether justice is real or just a word, and where the community either gains or loses confidence in the system. A judge who lacks experience, sound judgment, or genuine respect for the law can undo in a single ruling what law enforcement works incredibly hard to build.
Trampas Whalin understands that. He has spent the last two decades practicing criminal, family, civil, and estate law, along with many other areas, right here in Hamilton County. His courtroom experience is unmatched. He has served as a Judge Pro Tempore in Superior Court 4 and in nearly every other Hamilton County court, so he knows that courtroom from the inside and is ready on day one.
Beyond his legal work, Trampas has demonstrated the kind of character this community deserves in a judge. He has served as President of the Hamilton County Bar Association and as President of the Noblesville Elks Lodge multiple times. He has also volunteered and donated in support of youth activities, veterans, pro bono legal services, and many other worthy causes. These are not the actions of someone looking for recognition. They are the actions of someone who takes his obligations to this community seriously.
I spent three decades standing up for law and order in Hamilton County. Trampas Whalin is someone we can count on to help keep Hamilton County a great and safe place to live. I am proud to support him.
