Spring returns to the rails on Friday, April 17, as Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad launches its 2026 railbike season from Hobbs Station in Noblesville.

The seasonal outdoor experience invites guests of all ages to pedal the rails and take in the scenery along the historic Nickel Plate line. Railbike rides have become a favorite warm-weather activity for families, couples, friends, and visitors looking for a unique way to get outside and explore Hamilton County.

In 2025, the program welcomed more than 10,000 riders. With strong growth over the last several seasons, the organization expects that momentum to continue in 2026 with a new lower-priced weekday option and additional themed offerings planned for later this season.

“Our railbike rides have become such a fun part of what we offer each year,” said Emily Reynolds, executive director of Nickel Plate Heritage Railroad. “They give people a chance to experience the railroad in a completely different way, and we are excited to welcome riders back for another season starting April 17.”

All rides depart from Hobbs Station in Noblesville and are designed to be approachable and enjoyable for a wide range of riders. The regular 2026 railbike season will run through October, giving guests plenty of opportunities to experience the historic corridor in a fun, active, and family-friendly way.

Advance ticket purchases are encouraged, especially for weekend rides and other high-demand dates.

Tickets and additional ride information are available at NickelPlateExpress.org.
