Carmel girls win county game

The Carmel girls lacrosse team won an all-county game Thursday over Noblesville, 16-0 at Murray Stadium, picking up its first win of the season.

The Greyhounds led 5-0 after the first quarter and 7-0 at halftime. Carmel added seven more goals in the third period for a 14-0 advantage.

Mallory Wingenroth and Ellie Espey both scored three goals for the Hounds. Emma Nichols, Julianna Mancini and Jacqueline Mabry all scored two.

Carmel hosts Penn on Saturday afternoon. The Millers are off until April 7 when they host Cathedral.
