Royals triumph in Mudsock game, Carmel wins Meachum game

The Hamilton Southeastern boys lacrosse team won the Mudsock game on Wednesday, beating host Fishers 21-0.

Twelve different players scored for the Royals, with Marcus Laux leading the way by putting in four goals. Henry Wans celebrated his birthday by scoring three goals and making one assist.

Sophomore Ben Speckman dished out three assists and also scored one goal. Jackson Joyce was 14-4 in face-offs, a 78 percent success rate.

Jake Kuxhausen had two goals and two assists, with Carson Berry also scoring two goals. Kyle Jenkins handed out two assists. Sam Brandenburg collected four ground balls.

Southeastern is 6-2 and plays two games in St. Louis this weekend, taking on Christian Brothers Friday and MICDS on Saturday. Fishers is 3-2 and hosts Park Tudor on Friday.

Carmel hosted Westfield Wednesday in the Jack Meachum game.

Carmel won 23-2. Ike Stitle led the Greyhounds scoring with six goals. Max McCord added five goals and Evan Bardwell scored four. Lincoln O’Leary had three goals and two assists.

Luke Shrift dished out five assists, while Evan Coulter made four assists. Matthew Quigley picked up five ground balls.

Westfield stats from this game were not available at press time. It was the first loss of the year for the Shamrocks after they won their first four games, including a 7-6 double overtime win at Zionsville on Friday, March 20.

Keegan Hemingway scored three goals for Westfield in that game, followed by Finnigan Smyth with two goals. Jake Norris and Landon Clark both scored one. Clark made two assists and Hemingway had one.

Carmel is 4-0 and plays at Crown Point Saturday. Westfield hosts St. Louis University on Friday, March 27.
