Election Board to discuss candidates who did not file campaign finance reports

The Hamilton County Election Board will meet at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26 to discuss a series of resolutions the board considers each year for passage.

The resolutions deal with topics such as voting by travel board, establishing in-person early voting hours and locations, combining precincts, allowing 16- and 17-year-olds to work the polls, whether to have Sheriff’s deputies present at voting locations, and the security protocol for voting equipment.

In addition, the Board will also discuss the fact that seven candidates failed to file their campaign finance reports by noon on Jan. 21. According to County Clerk Kathy Williams, three of those seven ended up filing their reports on Thursday, Jan. 22.
