Sheridan’s girls dropped a home game to Lapel, 54-37, Tuesday at Larry Hobbs Hall.
The Class 2A No. 5 Bulldogs led 15-11 after one quarter and 30-20 at halftime. Makenzy Terry scored eight points for the Blackhawks in the first half, with Sadie Timme scoring six points.
Lapel took further control in the third quarter, outscoring Sheridan 17-8 for a 47-28 advantage. Brielle Garner scored all eight of the Hawks’ points in that period. Marah Fausset added six points for Sheridan in the fourth quarter by going 6 of 6 from the free-throw line.
Garner scored 11 points, followed by Terry with eight. The Bulldogs’ Laniah Willis led all scorers, earning a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Sheridan is 7-8 and plays Friday at Tri-Central for a Hoosier Heartland Conference girls-boys doubleheader.
