On Monday evening, Dec. 1, Fishers firefighters responded to a residential fire on East 136th Street. The woman evacuated safely, but the damage has displaced her from her home. Firefighters faced heavy fire conditions on arrival, starting with an exterior defensive attack and then moving inside once the bulk of the fire was suppressed. South Madison Fire Territory assisted as well as the Fishers Fire Corps volunteers who provided rehab for responders. The cause of the fire is under investigation by city fire investigators.
