Two local schools earn first-ever Indiana Blue Ribbon distinction

Creekside Middle School in Carmel and St. Louis de Monfort School in Fishers were recently named inaugural recipients of the Indiana Blue Ribbon Schools designation. Congratulations to the hardworking teachers, administrators, students and parents on this deserving recognition!

This fall, the state announced a newly established recognition for Hoosier schools. The Indiana Blue Ribbon Schools designation recognizes schools that show exceptional academic achievement and commitment to student success. Schools with this honor have fostered environments of excellence and innovation, serving as models of educational leadership and impact for communities statewide and beyond.

All the honored schools will be formally recognized at the fourth annual Educational Excellence Awards gala, taking place in Indianapolis on Friday, Nov. 21.

Indiana’s Blue Ribbon Schools designation follows the National Blue Ribbon Schools designation first established in 1982. As education is returned to the states, the U.S. Department of Education has encouraged states to continue celebrating the achievements of their local schools and the positive impact they make on the lives of students. The Indiana Department of Education will annually name a new cohort of designees.

I’m proud to see the hard work of our educators, students and families recognized.
