Hamilton Heights School Corporation (HHSC) invites the community to a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22 at the Hamilton Heights Stadium, South Ticket Entrance.

Superintendent Dr. Derek Arrowood and School Board President Dr. Kevin Cavanaugh will lead the ceremony.

Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the new Outdoor Locker Facility, featuring the Jarrod T. Mason Team Room, along with handicap-accessible stadium enhancements including a new press box, public restrooms, and concessions. At the high school, upgrades include a new Administration Wing, a new Agricultural Lab and Classroom, and a renovated Construction Lab.

“Following the successful installation of synthetic turf on the Hamilton Heights High School football field, we identified an opportunity to further enhance the athletic complex,” HHSC Facility Director Dori Hochstedler said. “Driven by a commitment to accessibility, inclusiveness, and community pride, HHSC embarked on a comprehensive improvement project to elevate the experience for students, athletes, and spectators alike.”

Key upgrades include new grandstands and press boxes, enhanced football field lighting, a new south stadium entry, and backstop netting for both baseball and softball fields.

At the heart of the project is the replacement and expansion of the original locker room facility, originally built through generous contributions from HHSC parents and community members. The new facility honors that legacy while meeting the evolving needs of today’s student-athletes. It features multiple locker rooms for all sports and teams, a central team room with views of the football field, an expanded training area, and additional concessions and restrooms for spectators.

The design reflects the identity and heritage of the Hamilton Heights Huskies, blending community pride with modern aesthetics. A newly designed spectator plaza further enhances the gameday experience, offering a welcoming space for families, alumni, and fans to gather and connect. HHSC extends a special thank you to CSO Architects and Mayer Najem design and project management partners for their guidance and expertise from start to finish.

HHSC will kick off the 2025 fall season in this revitalized facility, marking a new chapter in the school’s athletic tradition. Please plan to attend this celebration to learn more about the project, meet the staff, and tour the facility alongside district families, visitors, and community members.

Following the ceremony, guests are encouraged to stay as Band seniors are honored and to cheer on the Huskies in their home turf season opener against the Lapel Bulldogs.
