Duane Edward Hiatt, 89, Arcadia, departed this life on August 2, 2025, at The Waters of Tipton. He was born in Noblesville on December 30, 1935, to the late Calvin Jr. and Mary (Burris) Hiatt. Duane was a graduate of Jackson Central High School in the Class of 1954. On July 17, 1955, he married Peggy Lou Hudson.
Duane was self-employed, owning a Steamatic Carpet Cleaning of Indianapolis franchise. Later in his career, he served his community as the Jackson Township Trustee for two terms. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Duane is survived by his sons, Duane “Mike” (Nancy) Hiatt, Eric Hiatt, Timothy Hiatt and John (Susie) Hiatt; his grandchildren, Sara Hiatt, Kyle Hiatt, Morgan (Bradley) Smith, Chris (K.C.) Hiatt, Jack (Becky) Hiatt, Matt Bays, and Jennifer Bays (Shannon); and his great-grandchildren, Josie, Collette, Prestin, Logan, Liam, and Charlotte. He was preceded in passing by his wife, Peggy; his parents, Calvin and Mary; and his brothers, Steve Hiatt and Courtney Hiatt. His legacy will continue in the love and memories he leaves behind.
A graveside service for Duane will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Hinkle Creek Cemetery in Noblesville, where he was a longtime member of Hinkle Creek Friends Church. Pastor Robert Stubbs will officiate.
