Another day, another win for two Carmel Swim Club stars.
Grace Daugherty and Molly Sweeney both won events during Friday’s Day 3 of competition at the Indiana Swimming 2025 Senior Long Course Championship at Indiana University’s Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.
Daugherty and Sweeney teamed up for a 1-2 finish in the Women’s 100 backstroke. Daugherty won the event with a time of 1 minute, 3.97 seconds, while Sweeney placed second in 1:04.56. Sweeney later was victorious in the Women’s 100 butterfly, clocking in at 1:00.09 for that event.
With the meet at its halfway point, Carmel leads the combined team standings with 1,476.5 points and maintains a solid lead in the men’s standings with 955.5 points. Southeastern Swim Club is a close first in the women’s standings, with 14 points separating first from fourth place. Southeastern has 531 points, followed by Fort Wayne Swim Team with 527, Carmel with 521 and Indiana Swim Club with 517.
NOTE: The “C” Finals consist of the first eight 18-and under swimmers that did not qualify for the “A” or “B” Finals, while the “D” Finals consist of the next eight qualifying 15- and 16-year-olds that did not qualify for any of the other Finals. The “D” Finals are considered a non-scoring heat.
