The Indiana Construction Hike for Hope was held last Saturday, May 31 at Hub & Spoke in Fishers. The event had a great turnout to raise funds to help prevent suicide.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the Coalition for Construction Safety (CCS) teamed together to host this event where they hiked the Cheeney Creek Trail. They had several local mental health and wellness providers onsite to connect guests with the great services here in Hamilton County.

Kylie Hagarty, Indiana Special Events Manager for AFSP Indiana, also spoke of all the great things they are doing and how they have worked with CCS, since the construction profession is not only one of the most dangerous, but it has the highest suicide rate in the labor industry. She thanked everyone who came out that day to support their efforts.

It was a nice turnout for a greater cause, suicide awareness and prevention.
