Unified track & field: Tigers win regional, will join Rocks at state

The Fishers Unified track & field team is heading back to the IHSAA state finals after defending its Kokomo regional championship last Saturday.

The Tigers scored 130 points. Fishers will be joined by Westfield, which placed second with 108.5 points, and Warren Central which finished third with 97 points. It will be the sixth time that the Tigers appear in the state finals and the fourth consecutive time for the Shamrocks.

Fishers picked up several section wins, including Section 2 of the girls 4×100 relay and the boys 4×100 relay. Other Tigers winners were Aaron Schooley (Section 5, 100 dash and Section 5, 400 dash), Lila Horn (Section 2, 100 dash), Chloe Seymour (Flight 3, long jump), Akeem Schooley (Flight 5, long jump) and Kendall Manges (Flight 3, shot put).

Westfield got victories from Jalen Wechsler (Section 1, 100 dash, Kiam Moainie (Section 3, 100 dash) and Owen Roberts (Flight 4, long jump).

Noblesville placed seventh as a team with 91 points. Winners for the Millers were Aiden Perez (Section 3, 400 dash) and Aiden Brewer (Flight 5, shot put).
