Young Rocks (pebbles) get a visit from U.S. Army platoon

(ABOVE) In December 2024, second-grade students from Ms. Chelovitz’s class at Oak Trace Elementary in Westfield brought holiday cheer to soldiers overseas with a thoughtful care-package project. Former librarian Mrs. Lane told the students about family friend First Lieutenant Josef Eisgruber and his platoon, inspiring this project.

(BELOW) Fast forward to May 2025 when Eisgruber payed a visit to Oak Trace to thank them for their kindness and to teach them about life in the military. The kids even learned how to properly salute.
