Noblesville and Brownsburg had more of a gap than normal between each game of their Hoosier Crossroads Conference series. Last Friday’s severe weather postponed Game 2 to Monday.

The Millers extended their winning streak to 11 with a 7-1 win over the Bulldogs, sweeping the two games. Last Thursday’s game at Brownsburg was a 12-3 Noblesville win that included five home runs.

Brownsburg tried to change the script right away in the first inning. Two consecutive singles in the first three pitches from Joe Glander and the Bulldogs got their run on the scoreboard for a 1-0 lead.

Glander focused in over the final six innings, striking out six in that span for seven total and only yielded just one more hit and a walk.

Noblesville quickly grabbed the lead in the home half of the first. Trevor Corbett led off with a liner to center and stole second with ease. Aiden Reynolds followed suit for runners at the corners. Cole Schott’s sacrifice fly to center scored Corbett, leaving Reynolds at first.

After Jalen Stidham was hit by a pitch, Luke Hagleskamp drove a hard base hit to left. Reynolds scored on a fielding error by Canyon Koonce to take the 2-1 lead.

Aiden Ramsey drove in Stidham with a hit to right. Stidham scored on an error by the right fielder for a 3-1 score.  Hagelskamp moved to third on the same error.

Chris Martz plated Hagelskamp on an RBI ground out to third. Joe Glander helped his own cause with an RBI double to deep left center, scoring Ramsey for the fifth run of the inning and a 5-1 advantage.

The Millers put together a two-out rally in the third. Martz singled past the shortstop and Joe Glander walked. They both advanced to second and third when Brownsburg relief pitcher Vince Painter balked.

Zac Glander took a 1-2 pitch into shallow right for a Texas-leaguer, scoring both Adam Gaskill, who courtesy ran for Joe Glander, and Martz for what turned out to be the final score of 7-1.

Joe Glander (4-2) picked up his fourth win of the season. Freshman brother Zac had two RBIs and Aiden Reynolds two hits to highlight the offense.

Noblesville (16-8, 9-3 HCC) has swept four straight conference series and won 11 games in a row.

The No. 12 Millers host No. 8 Zionsville (16-8, 9-3 HCC) tonight at 6:30 p.m. in a pivotal two-game set to finish the regular season. Game 2 of the series is slated for tomorrow night at Zionsville, also a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
