Sheridan Elementary School (SES) was filled with excitement and anticipation as students took the stage for the SES Talent Show on Friday, April 18.

Sponsored by the SES PTO, the event showcased many talents with the theme “Movies and Musicals.” This brought a fun flair to the performances.

The talent show is open to students from kindergarten through fifth grade. It featured a variety of acts, including singing, dancing, puppeteering, comedy, and even a drum solo. This year, there were a total of 26 performances that each showcased the creativity, confidence, and talent of the students.

Among the wonderful acts, fourth graders Alyssa Martin and Nadia Hall danced to “Defying Gravity” from Wicked; Landon Wilbur, Ayers Macy, Tyler Horney, Mavyn Merrell, Andli Ownbey, and Paislee Gaylor provided a performance as members of the Lollipop Guild and Lullaby League from The Wizard of Oz; and fifth grader Natalie Huff sang to “Tomorrow” from Annie.

The entire show was directed by Candy Hall and Lindsey Martin, who worked hard to provide a seamless event and give each performer their time to shine. They even added a group of fifth-grade emcees who kept the audience entertained. The emcees were all students who had previously participated in the Rising Stars program and they were Kayla Dodson, Natalie Huff, Bridget McKinney, Allison Mylet, and Briston White.

The SES Talent Show was a night to remember, not only for the audience, but also for all those involved. This event brings together all the unique talents and gifts that students at SES have to offer.

Bravo to everyone involved! Encore!
