Tickets on sale now for CSO’s “Appalachian Spring” at the Palladium

Join the Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) to celebrate the arrival of spring with a concert inspired by nature, nostalgia, and beauty. Under the baton of Conductor Joel Smirnoff, this unforgettable evening features a program filled with lush melodies and vibrant orchestral colors.

Appalachian Spring is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Palladium at the Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts.

This celebrated American ballet, which first captivated audiences in 1944, tells the poignant and uplifting story of a frontier couple on their wedding day, set against the backdrop of a world emerging from the shadows of war. A masterful reflection of hope and rebirth, Copland’s Appalachian Spring embodies the spirit of a new beginning as World War II drew to a close. Copland’s evocative score earned him the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 1945 and has since become one of the most cherished works in the American orchestral repertoire.

Program

  • Irish Tune from County Derry, Molly on the Shore, and Shepherd’s Hey by Percy Grainger
  • Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copland
