Unforgettable fun at Sheridan Elementary Family Game Night

Families came together for an unforgettable evening of fun and learning during the Sheridan Elementary School’s (SES) K-2 Family Game Night on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

The event, designed to foster family engagement and reinforce key learning skills, brought together students, parents, and educators for an interactive experience filled with laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to bond and engage in meaningful activities that contributed to both academic growth and personal connections.

Classic board games gave the families an opportunity to engage in activities that promote problem-solving, cooperation, and strategic thinking. Popular stations included math and literacy games, building challenges, and group activities encouraging communication and critical thinking. These games helped to reinforce important skills while still providing a fun and relaxed environment for everyone.

“Our goal was to create an event where families could connect through play while reinforcing key learning skills,” SES Counselor Amanda Williams said. “It was wonderful to see parents and children working together, having fun, and building memories.”

The evening gave families and the community the opportunity to become more engaged and excited with what their students are learning in school.

The evening also featured pizza and lemonade, providing a delicious treat as families gathered around to enjoy each other’s company. Many families appreciated the event, with one parent saying, “It’s so great to take a break from screens and enjoy quality time together. The kids loved it, and we can’t wait for the next one!”

A big thank-you goes to the dedicated staff, volunteers, and community members who made the night successful. With such positive feedback, SES looks forward to hosting more events that bring families together for learning, laughter, and fun in the future, reinforcing the school’s commitment to creating an engaging and inclusive environment for all students and their families.
