Boys basketball roundup: Tigers can’t stop racking up wins

Fishers returned to the Tiger Den last Saturday for an all-county game with Carmel, winning that contest 80-39. The Tigers outscored the Greyhounds in each quarter, leading 17-6 after the first period and 36-15 at halftime.

Fishers again had four players reach double figures. McCartney made four 3s on his way to 16 points, and Zachary drained three triples while scoring 15 points. Kirby added 14 and Gardner scored 13. Zachary made six steals and JonAnthony Hall scored eight points and had four steals. Nathan Baker collected five rebounds.

Miles Wiley and Liam Mann each scored 10 points for Carmel. Aiden Dickerson had nine points and six rebounds, while Mann collected five rebounds. The ‘Hounds were coming off a 38-35 home win over Ben Davis last Friday.

The Tigers are 18-0 and play at Westfield Thursday in another HCC game, then travel to O’Fallon, Ill. for a game against Peoria Manual. Carmel is 9-7 and plays Thursday at Lawrence North.

Noblesville won an all-county boys basketball game at Guerin Catholic 54-39 Saturday.

The Millers steadily built their lead throughout the first three quarters, going up 14-10 after one period. Noblesville then led 26-17 at halftime and 41-26 after the third quarter.

Baron Walker scored 21 points for the Millers, with Justin Curry adding 16 points. Both players made three 3-pointers, and Curry reached double-double status by pulling 11 rebounds. Adam Fine dished out four assists.

Jake Grissom led the Golden Eagles with 12 points. Bryson Cardinal scored 10 points and collected nine rebounds.

Noblesville is 13-4, having won its last eight games. The Millers host Mount Vernon Thursday.

Guerin Catholic is 16-3 and hosts Culver Academies this coming Saturday.

Hamilton Southeastern got a nice road win last Saturday at Pendleton Heights, 77-59.

The Royals outscored the Arabians in each of the four quarters. Southeastern led 13-11 after one period, then jumped ahead 31-23 by halftime. The Royals continued to pull away in the third quarter; they led 50-37 going into the fourth, then finished things up with a 27-point fourth period.

Three players reached double figures for HSE. Braeden Totten scored 17 points and collected six rebounds, while Maverick Young added 15 points. Landon Osswald scored 12 and also pulled six rebounds. Jaxon Wanza had five rebounds and Jack Jacobs dished out four assists.

The Royals are 9-10 and host Franklin Central Thursday in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.

Sheridan dropped a 74-65 home game to Covenant Christian last Saturday at Larry Hobbs Gymnasium. The Warriors lead 17-15 after one quarter, then pulled ahead 38-22 by halftime. The ‘Hawks cut into Covenant’s lead during the second half, but the Warriors held on for the win.

Wright led the Sheridan scoring with 28 points, including three 3-pointers. Winston scored 21 points, also pulling four rebounds and making three steals.

The Blackhawks are 12-4 and host Herron Thursday for Senior Night.
