Heights takes down Logansport for first victory of the season

Hamilton Heights got its first win of the season Tuesday, beating Logansport 50-35 at home in a Hoosier Conference East Division game.

The Huskies jumped out to a 10-5 lead after one quarter, then had a strong second quarter, outscoring the Berries 19-8 for a 29-13 halftime advantage. Heights held on to that lead for the entire second half.

Presley Cherry earned a double-double with 15 points and 10 steals; she also dished out five assists and made two 3-pointers. Katie Brown hit three 3s on her way to 15 points. Abby Hilfiker collected eight rebounds, while Brown and Reece Blanton both pulled seven rebounds. The Huskies had 24 team steals; Brown made six and Sarah Sherrill collected four.

Heights is 1-0 in division play and 1-9 overall. The Huskies host West Lafayette Saturday afternoon.
