Life-saving awards hold great significance at the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. These awards recognize employees who take decisive action during a crisis, giving individuals another chance at life. One such hero is Sarah Lockhart, a HCSO Corrections Officer.

Recently, while working a special detail in accordance with the Cicero Police Department and HCSO, she encountered an unresponsive subject. Recognizing multiple signs of overdose, she stepped in to provide Narcan to rectify the medical emergency.

Presenting Lockhart and her K9 Officer Simon with the award were Major John Lowes, Cicero Police Chief Jeff Rednour, and Hamilton County Sheriff Dennis Quakenbush.

Congratulations, Officer Lockhart! Your action played a vital role in saving a life.
