The American Ambulance Association’s annual Stars of Life event, which wrapped up last week in Washington, D.C., honors the dedication and exceptional service of EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, educators, fleet technicians, and other vital EMS professionals. Seals Ambulance EMT Steve Emery is this year’s awardee. This prestigious event not only celebrates individual achievements but also serves as a key opportunity for the EMS community to raise its profile with lawmakers. Throughout the week, award recipients joined their executive hosts from agencies nationwide to meet with U.S. Senators and Congressional Representatives. These brief, impactful Hill meetings provide EMS leaders with the chance to advocate for policies that support the industry and enhance public safety.
