The Hamilton Heights girls wrestling team competed in its first-ever IHSAA sanctioned dual meet on Wednesday.

The Huskies traveled to Elwood and won 42-6. Heights won all seven of its official matches with first-period pins, including a nine-second fall from Zoe Pugh at 120 pounds. Other Huskies winners were Aubrey Baber at 115, Veronica Pruitt at 130, Cora Flack at 135, Izzy Bailey at 155, Amelia Cordero at 170 and Natalie Head at 190.

Diana Galt won an exhibition match at 170 pounds. Heights forfeited the heavyweight division, which gave the Panthers six points.

“Being one of the first sanctioned dual meets in Indiana was just thrilling,” said Huskies coach Gary Myers. “The girls had the most fun, from both sides, win or lose. They were just having a blast.”
