St. Theodore Guerin High School recognized as 2024 National Blue Ribbon School

Guerin Catholic High School announces that it has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

The announcement was made Monday by the U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona.

“The National Blue Ribbon Schools Award is a testament to the exceptional achievements of students and educators at each of these schools,” Cardona said. “The 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools are raising the bar for our nation’s students, serving as models for effective teaching and intentional collaboration in their schools and communities. As we celebrate their achievements, let us look to these schools for inspiration as we champion education as the foundation of a brighter future for every child.”

Guerin Catholic Principal James McNeany was pleased with the announcement.

“I am thrilled for the entire Guerin Catholic community that our school was chosen for this award,” he said. “The qualifications for a high school are particularly competitive, and our selection speaks to the high level of academic achievement that Guerin Catholic continues to attain.”

Deacon Rick Wagner, President of Guerin Catholic, noted, “This is truly a community award. I am very proud of the faculty and staff. They work hard to help our students reach their full potential, and the students have responded positively to that challenge. Most impressive is our ability to maintain a strong Catholic identity without sacrificing excellence in academics.”

St. Theodore Guerin High School is a Diocesan school in the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana, serving diverse learners, forming the whole person through faith development, excellence in academics, and student life to live out the gospel message. Founded in 2004, Guerin Catholic has been consistently recognized by The Cardinal Newman Society as one of the top Catholic High Schools in the nation.
