The Westfield Democrats celebrated Juneteenth with an enlightening session from Michael Kobrowski with the Westfield Washington Historical Society.

Attendees explored the community’s history of standing against slavery and visited the Anti-Slavery Friends Cemetery, where one of Westfield’s abolitionist founders, Asa Bales, is laid to rest.

The Westfield Washington Historical Society preserves and promotes the history of Westfield Washington Township for current and future generations. To learn more, visit wwhs.us.
