Talented students from across Indiana will join their professional counterparts on stage for a spectacular concert at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20.
Join the Side-by-Side participants as they perform alongside Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra musicians at Hilbert Circle Theatre after four weeks of intensive coaching. This concert will feature music of Wagner, Grieg, and Tchaikovsky, as well as Miranda Isbitts, the winner of the Michael Ben and Illene Komisarow Maurer Young Musicians Contest. This contest encourages accomplished young Indiana musicians to set and achieve goals of technical and artistic excellence by providing an opportunity to perform in a competitive setting.
The concert is family-friendly concert and tickets are only $10.

The orchestra will be conducted by ISO Assistant Conductor Su-Han Yang. Pieces to be performed will include:
- Richard Wagner: Overture to Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg
- Johannes Brahms: Violin Concerto in D Major, Op.77, I. Allegro non troppo
- Edvard Grieg: Suite No. 1 from Peer Gynt, Op. 46
- Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Capriccio italien, Op. 45
About Miranda Isbitts
Born in Clearwater, Fla., Isbitts began studying violin at the age of 5. She has been a student of Indiana Professor Mimi Zweig since 2018. Throughout high school, she has performed many solo and ensemble works across several states with the Violin Virtuosi of the Jacob’s School of Music. At 13 years old, Isbitts twice performed as a soloist with The Florida Orchestra after winning the grand prize in their young artist competition. She went on to study full-time at the IU String Academy and has won numerous competitions in the state. In the fall, she placed first in the Sherer International Violin and Piano Competition. She also performed as a soloist with the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra in August. Her Gand and Bernardel violin is generously on loan from The Friedman Family.
