Westfield Speech & Debate team sending 11 members to state meet

Congratulations to the Westfield High School Speech & Debate Team for having a record 11 students qualify for the state speech meet.

They also had two sectional champions: Asha Adhihari placing first in Original Oratory and Mayah Lopez placing first in Informative Speaking. The team won the third place sweepstakes trophy.

Here are the top six ribbon winners who are state qualifiers:

  • Asha Adhikari, first in Original Oratory
  • Katie Bolduc, sixth in Informative Speaking
  • Talia Edwards, sixth in Original Oratory and sixth in Original Performance
  • Olivia Foor-Lecea, third in Informative Speaking
  • Arthur Goreham, sixth in Broadcasting
  • Jetta Hayes, second in Original Oratory
  • Mayah Lopez, second in Broadcasting and first in Informative Speaking
  • Michael Poulter, sixth in U.S. Extemporaneous Speaking
  • Abhijay Salvi, sixth in Impromptu Speaking and forth in U.S. Extemporaneous Speaking
  • Elizabeth Schuth, fifth in Informative Speaking and fifth in Broadcasting
  • Abigail TerBush, second in Dramatic Interpretation

*Emmy Watson is an alternate in Original Oratory
