The Fishers Arts Council (FAC) presents the seventh annual Juried Exhibit of Hamilton County Artists, sponsored by Jiffy Lube of Indiana, in the Fishers Art & Municipal Complex for the month of September.
The exhibit boasts 64 2D artworks and 11 3D, taking over the Art Gallery at City Hall as well as both gallery spaces inside the Fishers Art Center.
Artists in the exhibit were selected by juror, Carol Strock Wasson. She is a distinguished artist celebrated for her achievements and contributions to the world of art. Honored as an Eminent Pastelist by the International Association of Pastel Societies, she is recognized for her mastery and innovation within the medium. Her work is deeply inspired by the rural landscapes of her home, where she explores color, shape, and design in both the plein air tradition and studio practice. While widely acclaimed for her expertise in pastel, her artistic repertoire also includes oil painting and monotype prints.
Strock Wasson shares her passion for art through teaching at Strockwasson Studio and through online courses. She is dedicated to fostering strong artistic foundations, emphasizing the importance of mastering fundamentals, composition, color theory, and design, while inspiring others to pursue their own creative journeys.
This is the seventh year that Jiffy Lube of Indiana has served as title sponsor, maintaining their strong support of the arts in Hamilton County and beyond. Additional award sponsors are Wasson Nursery, Renewal by Andersen, Noblesville Creates, Sunrise Café, and Five Star Bath Solutions. Noblesville Creates also sponsored the People’s Choice award – which will be decided by the public. Online voting is possible on the arts council’s Facebook page by “liking” your favorite artwork or coming to the gallery in person to vote. All votes must be received by 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, to be counted.
Guests can visit the galleries in person at 1 Municipal Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays during the Fishers Farmers’ Market. You can also see the juried exhibit in the online gallery at Facebook.com/FishersArt.
Please plan to attend the free public reception on Second Friday, Sept. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. to meet the artists, enjoy live music by Ivan Moreland, sample refreshments, and see who wins. Awards will be announced at 7:15 p.m. in the Fishers Municipal Center Theater, just inside the gallery.
