Youth psychiatrist Dr. Hosain joins Aspire

Aspire Indiana Health is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Huma Hosain, an experienced child/adolescent psychiatrist, to its staff of medical and behavioral health experts.

Hosain

Dr. Hosain will practice at the nonprofit health organization’s clinics in Carmel and Lebanon.

Her role will involve treating the pediatric population with their mental health needs, including medication assistance and psychoeducation in conjunction with a therapist. She has a great deal of experience working at community mental health centers (CMHC) like Aspire. Dr. Hosain has a special interest in ADHD and anxiety-based disorders.

“I wanted to come back to working for a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and strive to help the underserved population,” she said.

Dr. Hosain previously was Child Psychiatry Chief Resident at Riley Hospital for Children. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology and her D.O. from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

She received a Certification in Population Health and Health Equity from the University of Michigan and served her medical residency in general psychiatry at the Detroit Wayne County Health Authority/Michigan State University. She also served as a clinic instructor of psychopathology at MSU.

Dr. Hosain is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
