Hamilton Southeastern got a solid boys wrestling victory on Wednesday, beating Bishop Chatard 51-24.
De Shawn Ternoir opened the meet with a first-period pin at 190 pounds. Evan Lawhead took a 5-1 decision at 215 over the Trojans’ highly-ranked Andrew Troy, then Nate Ingalls won at 285 with a third-period fall, making the score 15-0.
Will Lakes kept things going with a first-period pin at 106, then Dihn Nguyen received a forfeit at 113. Aidan Smalley took an 11-6 decision at 120, then Nick Anderson won by fall at 126. Parker Culp scored a technical fall at 132. At that point the score was 41-0, clinching the meet for the Royals.
Chatard got on the board by winning the 138-pound match by fall, and then got a pin at 144. Chris Casler bumped up to 150 pounds and scored an 8-0 major decision win over the Trojans’ Gabriel McNamee, making the score 45-12.
Chatard won at 157 before Southeastern’s Zach Lang got a pin at 165. The Trojans took the 175-pound match by fall to complete the dual.
The Royals are 15-5 for the season and are back in action Saturday at the Hoosier Crossroads Conference meet at Franklin Central.
