On Tuesday, Westfield Mayor Andy Cook announced that Senior Planner Kevin M. Todd will become the new Director of Community Development for the City of Westfield. Todd succeeds Matthew S. Skelton, who will be returning to private law practice.
“As the fastest growing city in Indiana there is a lot of work for our community development team and I know Kevin is up to the task,” said Cook. “Matt Skelton has been integral in the city’s successful growth and leaves the team well positioned for the future.”
Todd has been with the City of Westfield for 15 years and worked with Skelton for the past 10 years. Kevin was integral in the planning and implementation of the Grand Park Sports Campus and the Grand Junction District in downtown Westfield. Todd is a graduate of Anderson University and holds a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning from Ball State University.
Skelton will return to private law practice as a partner with the law firm of Church Church Hittle & Antrim.
“I had always planned to return to private practice at some point in my professional career, but the City of Westfield is a hard place to leave,” said Skelton. “There are so many exciting projects in the works. The City’s elected and appointed leaders are sophisticated and supportive people. It has been an honor to work here.”
Skelton will stay on with the City through the end of August to ensure a smooth transition.
