Westfield tied the game with one out when Dorton singled home Jack Woodard. Markle got the ‘Rocks ahead by scoring on an error, and Mahan’s base hit into left field brought in Dorton. Westfield would hold on in the seventh inning to clinch the win.
Mahan finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate, with Dorton and South each getting two hits. Gage Stanifer pitched the first five innings, striking out 11 and allowing no hits. South relieved him in the sixth inning and got the win, with Jacob Culp getting the save.
