The Westfield Police Department will partner with Ella Community Pharmacy for the 2024 National Drug Take Back Day.
This year’s event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, at the pharmacy, located at 211 Jersey St., Westfield.
“Too often, unused and expired medications find their way into the wrong hands,” WPD officials said. “That’s dangerous and often tragic. Bringing unused and expired medications to a Drug Take Back Day collection site protects you, your family, and your community. Participating in drug take back initiatives not only helps reduce the likelihood of inappropriate access in the home, but can also help protect the environment. Many individuals dispose of medications by flushing them down the toilet or pouring them down drains. During this event, you can anonymously dispose of expired, unused, or unwanted prescription or over the counter medications. Liquids must be in the original bottle with a secure lid. Needles, sharps, inhalers, illicit drugs, or vape pens with batteries are not accepted.”
