At the Westfield Lions’ June 5 program night meeting, four Westfield Middle School (WMS) students gave presentations on their class trip to Washington, D.C., this past spring.
Each year, the Lions sponsor one student from each of the WMS teams to attend the trip. For years there were only two teams, but as Westfield has grown, so has the number of teams at WMS. They are now up to five teams, and the Lions continue to sponsor one from each of them.
Neel Patel, Estelle Stroup, Angelina Parrish, and Scarlett Finnigan each talked about their experiences during the trip and what really stood out to them. They each also thanked the Lions for the opportunity they were given to go on the trip.
Along with hearing from the middle schoolers, the Lions also installed the Club’s 2025-2026 officers. Council Chair Julia Kozicki from the Noblesville Lions Club administered the oaths to Craig Cooley (president), Gary Smith (1st vice president), Chris Bluto (2nd vice president), Keith Sanborn (treasurer), Jeff Larrison (secretary), Ron Mangus (Lion Tamer), Tom Balchik (Tail Twister). The Directors are Rodney Benson, Bill Nesbitt, Mark Hallett, and Ted Engelbrecht.
Also at the meeting, the Club welcomed four new Lions. Dan Stevens (sponsored by Jeff Larrison), Jacqui and Dennis Lloyd (sponsored by Carrie Larrison), and Cheryl Hochgesang (sponsored by Linda Hallett) are now members of the longest-serving service club in Hamilton County. The Westfield Lions are now up to 72 members, and they continue to look for more to help them serve the citizens of Westfield and Hamilton County.
