Avenue of Flags fills Brookside neighborhood with colors of Old Glory
As part of the Westfield Kiwanis Club’s Avenue of Flags project, the Westfield Lions Club set out over 80 American flags in the Brookside neighborhood in observance of Labor Day.
The project is so popular and has grown so much that the Kiwanis uses volunteers, including the Westfield Lions Club, to install and collect flags in neighborhoods throughout Westfield.
“When we are installing the flags, we’re constantly hearing positive comments from the homeowners about the project,” Westfield Lion Jeff Larrison said. “It’s also great to be working with another service organization like the Kiwanis Club on such a worthwhile and meaningful project.”
The Avenues of Flags project is conducted five times a year – Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day and Veterans Day. For more information on the Avenue of Flags project and the Kiwanis Club, go to WestfieldKiwanis.org.
