The Westfield Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of the City of Westfield State Road 32 Streetscape Committee, will hold an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14 at the Grand Park Events Center. No RSVP is needed; stop by whenever it is convenient.
All Westfield residents are invited to attend a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to review and provide feedback on the concepts being considered for what the ‘streetscape’ along downtown State Road 32 will look like when the road enhancement and expansion project are complete.
Additionally, Old Town will also be on hand with some updated renderings of their Union Square project, which is situated along State Road 32 in downtown Westfield.
Westfield residents are invited to attend. A brief presentation will be made every 30 minutes to introduce those in attendance to the committee’s work. Following the presentation, attendees can view the design concepts and provide feedback. The input will be collected and given to the Streetscape Committee and shared with the Westfield City Council as city leadership works to determine the best plan forward.
What is a streetscape? It comprises elements that are functional and aesthetic items in pedestrian spaces that provide amenities and utility to pedestrians and other street users. This could include streetlamps, landscaping, sidewalk, crosswalks, seating areas, and signage, all working together to create the kind of atmosphere desired by the community.
