Westfield residents will have their last chance of the year to take part in Bulk Trash Day from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Westfield City Services, 2728 E. 171st St.

This twice-annual event is an opportunity for residents to dispose of items that cannot be included in their weekly garbage or recycling pick-up, such as carpet remnants, lawnmowers, and select kitchen appliances.

“This is the last Bulk Trash Day of the year, so if you’ve been meaning to clear out the garage or basement before the holiday season, now’s the time,” Community, Fleet, and Safety Officer Travis Stetnish said. “This is a simple and convenient way to keep your home and our community clean and clutter-free.”

Proof of residency such as a utility bill or driver’s license is required to participate in Bulk Trash Day; you must be a resident of Westfield or Westfield Washington Township to take part.

Most accepted items can be disposed of for free. However, a small fee will apply to select items, such as mattresses, tires, and televisions, which can be paid on-site (cash only).

Hazardous waste will not be accepted. Residents may dispose of hazardous waste items at the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Center and General Recycling Area in Noblesville, 1717 Pleasant St., Noblesville.
