Noblesville (2-2, 0-2) at Zionsville (2-2, 1-1)
Noblesville hits the road tonight to Boone County to face Zionsville. The Millers and Eagles are meeting for the 26th time this week. Zionsville holds a 19-6 record in the first 25. Noblesville has won three of the last four, including playoff matchups.
Zionsville won its Hoosier Crossroads Conference opener last week at home against Franklin Central, 35-21.
Noblesville fought tough against Westfield, but a couple late scores by the Shamrocks pushed the score to 38-18.
The Millers had nine different ball carriers that tallied 151 on the ground. Ty Holmes led with 60 yards and two touchdowns.
Max Miller went 6 of 11 for 89 yards, including an 18-yarder for a TD to Indy Wilhelm.
Sheridan (2-2, 2-0) at Clinton Prairie (3-1, 2-0)
Tonight will be the 22nd meeting between the Blackhawks and Gophers. Sheridan owns an 18-3 record in their all-time series, with a seven-game winning streak currently and winning those by an average of 31.8 per victory. The last time Clinton Prairie beat Sheridan was in 2015 (32-19).
Last week, the Gophers won their third game in a row on the road at Tri-Central, 34-24.
Sheridan got its second straight win, also on the road in Clinton County at Clinton Central, 43-26.
Jaylen Arnold got the ‘Hawks on the board in the first with a nine-yard TD catch from Brock Hagan.
The second was when they busted it wide open. Arnold scored again on a 12-yard run and Hagan ran another in that made it 21-6 at halftime.
It was 28-6 through three, thanks to Alex Cravens’ two-yard run for a TD. In the fourth, Cravens ran in another, along with Owen Bell rushing in from one yard to close the door on the Bulldogs.
Jaylen Arnold (177) and Alex Cravens (123) combined for 300 of Sheridan’s 325 rushing yards. Hagan was also pretty efficient, passing 6 of 8 for 61 yards and TD.
Western (0-4, 0-2) at Hamilton Heights (0-4, 0-2)
The Huskies will host the Western Panthers for the 27th meeting in their history. Heights owns a 14-12 record in those contests, but the series is tied 5-5 in the last 10 years. Kirschner’s squad won last season’s game in Arcadia, 32-0.
Last Friday, Western went on the road and lost at Tipton 31-7. The Panthers have scored just three touchdowns and give up 31.5 points per game.
Hamilton Heights went on the road last week and dropped a tough one to Danville, 38-7.
The lone Husky score was with 6:54 left in the second when Drew Woodruff found Nick Bichey for a 34-yard touchdown pass to make the halftime score 20-7.
