Features music by Sara Bareilles & stars Indy’s own Keirsten Hodgens

This summer, Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre serves up Waitress, the irresistible Broadway hit featuring the music of Sara Bareilles. Nominated for four Tony Awards including Best Musical, Waitress celebrates friendship, motherhood, and the magic of a well-made pie.

Jenna, a waitress and expert pie maker, is stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. Faced with an unexpected pregnancy, Jenna fears she may have to abandon the dream of opening her own pie shop – until a baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s handsome new doctor offer her a tempting recipe for happiness. Supported by her quirky crew of fellow waitresses and loyal customers, Jenna summons the secret ingredient she’s been missing all along: courage.

Waitress was inspired by Adrienne Shelly’s film and features the music of six-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles. Beef & Boards’ production is directed and choreographed by Stephanie Torns (Les Misérables), who performed in the original Broadway cast of Waitress.

Keirsten Hodgens makes her Beef & Boards debut in the role of Jenna, along with Chanel Edwards-Frederick in the role of Jenna’s friend, Becky. Grace Atherholt (The Wizard of Oz, West Side Story) plays another friend, Dawn, with Brett Mutter (A Christmas Story, The Wizard of Oz) as Ogie, Logan Moore (Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde) as Earl, and Douglas E. Stark (Fiddler on the Roof, Grumpy Old Men) as Joe. Also making their Beef & Boards debuts are Noah Berry as Dr. Pomatter and Adam du Plessis as Cal.

Waitress is on stage for 48 performances through Aug. 31 in the intimate space of Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre. Tickets range from $57 to $85 and include Chef Larry Stoops’ dinner buffet and select beverages.
