Volleyball: Tigers get big Senior Night win over Brebeuf

The Fishers volleyball team got a huge victory for its Senior Night on Tuesday, sweeping Class 3A No. 2 Brebeuf Jesuit 25-14, 25-20, 25-12.
Tigers coach Steven Peek called it “a passionate, inspired win for the Tigers.” The seniors led the way for 4A No. 8 Fishers: Outside hitter Audrey Haworth had 12 digs, seven kills, three block assists and two aces, while middle hitter Haley Soper made 10 block assists, two digs and one kill.
Setter Rose Duffy handed out 29 assists to go with nine digs, six block assists and one ace, while libero Emma Rosenberg led the defense with 13 digs, plus one ace.
Sophomore Camryn Haworth hit 11 kills and made six digs, sophomore Jada Allen put down nine kills and had three block assists, junior Bryn Roberts collected six digs to go with three kills and 1.5 blocks, and sophomore Shelby Settles served two aces.
Fishers is 20-4 for the season.

Hamilton Southeastern, ranked No. 5 in 4A, picked up a four-set win over Greenfield-Central on Tuesday, 25-7, 25-10, 20-25, 25-16.
Grace Hunter had a big night with 16 kills, while Taylor Shelton added 13 kills. Delaney Garner had eight kills in the middle along with Maddie Cole’s seven kills.
Julia Patras chipped in seven kills on the right side. Olivia Phillips had 33 assists on the night.
The Royals play their season finale on Thursday against Franklin Central in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference match.
“We will honor four key seniors who have played a huge part in our program,” said HSE coach Jason Young. “Taylor Shelton, Julia Patras, Zada Anderson and Lily Wray.”
In Saturday matches, Southeastern was swept by 4A No. 4 Center Grove 25-23, 25-22, 25-13. Hunter and Shelton each hit eight kills, and Patras put down seven kills on the right side. Carly Mills had 13 digs and two aces and Phillips handed out 25 assists.
The Royals then beat Columbus East 26-24, 25-18, 26-24. Hunter hit 11 kills and Patras had nine kills. Chloe Whaley had a strong match with five kills in the middle. Shelton served up four aces and Phillips dished out 20 assits.
Southeastern is now 24-7 for the season.

Noblesville won a Monday match over New Palestine in straight sets, 25-18, 28-26, 25-22 on Monday.
Lexie Almodovar hit 21 kills for the Millers, and also had nine digs and one block. Ava Nichols dished out 42 assists and collected 10 digs. Erika Knieper put down nine kills and Olivia Gulley had 15 digs.
Noblesville fell to Mount Vernon in four sets on Tuesday, 25-21, 25-21, 22-25, 25-13.
Almodovar had 25 kills and 17 digs, while Nichols handed out 33 assists and made 14 digs.

Sheridan dropped a Monday match to Tri-Central in four sets, 25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 25-13.
Becca Merritt made seven blocks and served two aces. Cheyenne Brooks hit 10 kills to go with her seven blocks. Maddie Zola dished out seven assists. Olivia Raines collected 15 digs and Allie Delph had 14 digs and 10 kills.
The Blackhawks’ junior varsity won its match 25-12, 25-21. Baylee Murphy had four digs and two assists, while Taylor Bates served six aces. Kaiden Wilson hit four kills, Lillie Dickerson put down three kills and Abbi Clouser had four digs.
Sheridan’s varsity travels to Clinton Prairie on Saturday morning for a tournament.

Westfield swept Pike on Monday, 25-12, 25-10, 25-10.
Mairin McAndrews and Kenzie Daffinee both hit six kills for the Shamrocks, with McAndrews also making three blocks. Daffinee and Sarah Weglarz both served three aces, Weglarz handed out 24 assists, and Bailey Mendler made 13 digs.
