Volleyball: Southeastern gets Senior Night victory

The Hamilton Southeastern volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday with a 25-20, 25-11, 25-20 sweep of Roncalli in the Royals’ Senior Night match.
Southeastern honored its six seniors: Carly Mills, Jordan Engelmann, Taylor Lauri, Allie Greig, Olivia Phillips and Delaney Garner.
These six seniors have helped transform our program,” said Royals coach Jason Young. “I am so proud of these young ladies and all of their accomplishments on and off the court.”
Garner hit 13 kills for the match, with Avery Hobson also spiking 11 kills. Mills collected 16 digs, with Engelmann adding five digs and one ace. Phillips dished out 20 assists.
Southeastern is 9-0 and plays Thursday at Zionsville.

Fishers started a busy week with a Monday win over Pendleton Heights, 25-16, 21-25, 25-16, 25-17.
Camryn Haworth handed out 45 assists, and was the catalyst for three Tigers players to hit double-digit kills: Mikayla Christiansen had 13, Emily Waldrop had 13 and Jada Allen had 12.
Samantha Perdue had 17 digs, with Waldrop collecting 12 and Haworth getting 11. The three combined for six aces, while Mia Fehlinger also served two aces.
“We have a big week ahead of us, ” said Fishers coach Steven Peek. “We have things we’re working to do more consistently, and we have plenty of opportunities against strong opponents this week. Now is the time in the season to start knowing who are.”
The Tigers beat Franklin Central 25-18, 25-16, 25-14 in a Tuesday Hoosier Crossroads Conference match. Fishers, now 2-1 in the HCC and 14-4 overall, hosts Avon on Thursday to continue conference play.

Sheridan swept Tindley 25-16, 25-16, 25-19 on Monday.
Allie Delph smacked 18 kills and also had five digs, three aces and one block. Abbi Clouser served two aces, while Emma Went collected 13 digs and had two aces.
Jacquellynne Bates hit eight kills and served two aces as well. Taylor Bates dished out 27 assists to go with six digs and two aces. Lillie Dickerson had six kills and Kaiden Wilson made one block.
On Tuesday, the Blackhawks junior varsity beat Shortridge 25-14, 25-16. Lilly Chesney led the way with eight aces, seven digs and four assists. Kayla Beahrs collected six digs and Makaylee Wilson had five. Hailey Curry handed out four assists. Claudia Headlee hit four kills and Valerie Adams had three.

Carmel edged out Zionsville in five sets on Tuesday, 16-25, 25-15, 25-17, 23-25, 17-15.
Lauren Evans had an outstanding match with 23 kills, 13 digs and five aces. Macarty McQueen added 18 kills and eight digs, while Savanna Rogers had 16 kills, 11 digs and one ace.
Caroline Yuska made three blocks and spiked three kills, while Ella Bostic dished out 64 assists to go with seven digs and four kills. Lexi Brehl collected 29 digs and served one ace.
