Volleyball: Southeastern come out on top at Crown Point Invitational, Heights & Carmel sweep opponents

The Hamilton Southeastern volleyball team picked up four match wins at the Crown Point Invitational last Saturday.

The Royals swept past Elkhart 25-11, 25-18, Bishop Noll 25-13, 25-13, Homestead 25-12, 25-12 and Zionsville 25-17, 25-23, running their record to 23-0 for the season. During the Homestead match, Southeastern senior Lauren Harden hit seven kills, and in the process broke the all-time kill record, surpassing 1,125 kills. Lindsey Mangelson also hit seven kills during the match.

In other match statistics: Ava Hunter served five aces and handed out 10 assists, with Macy Hinshaw dishing out seven assists. Sophie Ledbetter collected seven digs and Kaylyn Christy made six digs.

The Royals play a Hoosier Crossroads Conference match Thursday at Noblesville.

Hamilton Heights swept Scecina Monday, 25-18, 27-25, 25-10.

Lauren Lewis led the way with several kills and good serving, while Kennedy Cherry played solid defense.

The Huskies are 15-5 and host Delta tonight.

Westfield dropped a four-set match to North Central on Monday.

Carsyn Comer had 10 kills and four blocks, while Chloe Sutake hit nine kills. Izzy Jackson had 14 digs, with Stella Neale getting 13 digs. Lilly Stanton dished out 18 assists, followed by 14 for Jackson.

The Shamrocks are 14-14 and host Avon Thursday for an HCC match.

Carmel swept Pike on Monday, 25-14, 25-14, 25-16.

Lauren Evans hit six kills and five aces for the Greyhounds. Sammy Adams was strong at the net with five blocks, with London Evans and Noema Philistin-Lynch both making three blocks. Amanda Ailes handed out 11 assists, while Lexi Kedvesh collected nine digs.

Carmel is 9-13 and plays at Cathedral tonight.
